Day 365 – Platte River State Park

leaf-on-snow roots

I couldn’t decide between these two for my last picture of the day, so I included them both.  I can’t believe I actually made it through!  It was a long haul at times but mostly it was enjoyable.  I did a quick count and conservatively I’ve taken 34,000 photos over the course of the year.  I’ve put a lot of time into this project and I’ve learned a ton, but there’s so much more to learn.

For those family and friends who commented on my photography, online and in person, thank you.  I’m not sure if I could have continued without your encouragement.  Also a special thanks to my wonderful wife Melissa for all her help and support.

I’m not 100% sure what my next project is going to be but I think in January I’m going to start a “picture of the week” project.  I’ll give myself an assignment, execute it and write about it.  Sometime during the first week in January check out

If anyone has any questions, feel free to add a comment.

Thank you for sharing your photos. These last two are outstandingโ€”a visual testament to the ephemeral beauty of nature. It’s been a nice way to start the day for a year. Even though I rarely commented, I was always there enjoying your work.

You should be proud of your accomplishment, and to think that you even won at the State Fair! I really enjoyed looking at your photos and at times I found myself looking at things in a different way!! Good Job, Big Bro!!!

Like Jill, I often found myself looking at things in a different way. I miss coming to this site daily to see what you’ve found interesting to photograph. I’ll miss it! k
